All roles are open and are non-union, volunteer. Auditions will be held on February 11th (12pm-3) & 12th (10am-1pm). Auditions are by appointment only. To request an audition time slot please send an email with your full name and a contact phone number to westsidestoryatplt@gmail.com. Please allow one to two days for processing. After that time a confirmation email will be sent with your audition time slot. All auditions will be held at Pasadena Little Theatre; 4318 Allen Genoa Rd, Pasadena, TX 77504. The show runs from April 27th - May 20th.
Rehearsals are Sunday-Thursday and begin on February 25th Audition Breakdown: There will be a separate singing and dance audition. All roles can break down into three different categories: singing only, dance only, some dance and singing. It is not mandatory to participate in both auditions. If you are wanting to only audition for a heavy dance role or a singing role and not both, you may do so. Please specify in the email if you want a singing audition only, dance audition only or both. Please bring a current copy of your resume and head shot. If you do not have a current head shot please come prepared to be photographed for casting purposes. If you do not have a resume, please be able to include theatre experience on the audition form. A rehearsal and performance schedule will be available for you to document any conflicts that you might have.
PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED AUDITION TIME.
Singing Audition: You will be singing TWO selections for the music director. Please prepare a verse and chorus of any musical theatre song of your choice that best represents your voice. Also prepare a verse and chorus from a song from the following shows: Into the Woods, Company, On the Town, Oklahoma, or The Music Man. There will not be an accompanist but backing tracks are highly encouraged. A CD player will be available. If you do not have a backing track, come prepared to sing acapella.
Dance Audition: Please dress comfortably and appropriately for moving. Please make sure any long hair is out off the face and pulled back. A short combination will be taught by the choreographer.

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre's finest accomplishments. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the American “ Jets” and the Puerto Rican “Sharks.” Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
