The Pasadena Little Theatre is always looking for people who would like to participate in our productions. Auditions for actors and crewmembers are open to the public. You don't have to have a lot of theatre experience, just some enthusiasm and a willingness to work. If you are cast in a role or join the crew, we ask that you become a member of the theatre.
Auditions are held at the theatre.
Note from the Director - My ideal for the characters (especially the senator, his wife, girlfriend, and escort) would be actors who can imitate, impersonate, or give strong suggestion of figures we've all become familiar with through history and politics....the senator being a JFK, Clinton, Bush 2, etc., their respective wives, Monica Lewinsky, Marilyn Monroe....etc.
A number of the cast should be willing to be scantily clad at times during the play and able to do physical comedy (falling over furniture, rolling under the bed, up and down stairs...).
Senator Harry Douglas - 45-65, candidate for President of the United States, presents a character with careful combination of the external politician and the real Harry, "The Senusous Senator." His libido has him in constant trouble, not only a philanderer, but a natural clown--suave, elegant, imposing.
Lois Douglas - 40+, the Senator's long suffering wife, blissfully unaware of her husband's continual infidelities; impeccably groomed, the ever attentive, smiling politician's wife; kind, caring, motherly.
Congressman Jack MacGuire - 30-35, a first-term congressman; during the first act inadvertently takes a massive dose of sleeping pills, spending the rest of the play falling asleep and avoiding the clutches of Fiona who is fiercely determined to get him into bed. Young, idealistic, naive.
Congressman Clyde Salt - 60-80, elderly congressman; a cynic and wit. Old, almost senile, a natural comedian.
Fiona - 20-25, high class call girl. Spends most of the play in her underwear. Young, bright, perky, sexy.
Miss Morrison - any age, investigative reporter for "The National Intruder." Always pops up during the play with her camera ready to catch the Senator "in the act." Serious, businesslike, humorless.
Veronica - 25-40, Harry's secretary and lover. As sexy temptress, she's totally frustrated throughout the evening by all the action going on around her. Stunning, voluptuous seductress.
The Policeman - Any age, closest to the "straight man" in the play. Constantly appearing at the most inappropriate times to do searches and security checks. Rather serious.
